Summer 2020 has definitely been a strange experience with the ongoing pandemic. With that being said, it is still possible to enjoy the outdoors while continuing to practice social distancing. Depending on where you are, the weather may be starting to get particularly hot so in this article I'll be taking a look at some of the gear that I am excited to be taking on my outdoor adventures this summer!
The holidays are upon us and if you are like us, it can be a little stressful to think of gifts that might be cool and useful to get for your friends and family. Below we have created a list of some of our favorite items in a variety of areas such as travel, tech, and EDC to hopefully provide some ideas for what you might want to get.
I was really excited when ATailorBird reached out to me to see if I wanted to test out their Laptop Sleeve for 13 in laptops. We both currently use 13 in laptops (Macbook Pro Touchbar and Dell XPS) and we have been wanting to use a few different bags recently that were good overall, but that didn't offer the protection we needed for our devices. In this regard, this laptop sleeve has been a lifesaver! This sleeve seems to not only be high quality and offer great protection, but it also includes some slip pockets in the front zippered pocket that might allow me to simplify the way I carry my accessories on a daily basis. Read on to get an in depth look at the ATailorBird Laptop Sleeve.
The Nomatic Travel Pack is one of the bags I have been most excited to try out. The original Nomatic travel bag set the bar super high and I have to say that the newest bag did not disappoint. This bag has so many great features and is very unique in that it works very well as both a day bag and a travel backpack that can hold up to a week's worth of clothing. I am slightly obsessed with gadget organization and the concept of having a dedicated tech dopp kit. There are tons of options currently available that are made of all sorts of different materials, different sizes and different price ranges. It can be tricky to find a good quality organizer at a reasonable. Another issue I run into is having to carry multiple packs: one for smaller items (cables), one medium objects (headphones), and one larger objects (camera). I'm all for modular packing but this can get a little cumbersome so I was very excited when ATailorBird reached out to see if I wanted to test out their Electronics Organizer. This item seemed to not only be a good quality and offer really cool compartments to keep everything organized, but it also looked like it would allow be to simplify my carry on a daily basis. With Apple's adoption of the USB - C standard for it's newest laptops, it looks like this is the port of the future. As with any new technology, there is always an adjustment period for most people and it is difficult to have to go out and buy a bunch of new accessories to be able to do everything that you were already used to. As I have transitioned to using the 2017 Macbook Pro which only has USB - C ports, I have done a good amount of research on which adapters and cables would ease my transition into this interesting new world. At the moment, many companies are just starting to produce these cables and dongles, which means that there are a lot of low quality items on the market or they are just really expensive. However, after spending a great deal of time on Amazon I was able to find the following accessories which I thought were a good balance of price, quality, and features. Keep reading to see the USB - C accessories I use on a daily basis.
Having the ability to work from anywhere is one of the greatest feelings in the world. Whether you run your own company or you happen to work for a company that allows remote work, having the freedom to work from wherever you want is awesome. However, with that freedom comes great responsibility and it is important to still be able to work effectively from whatever location you are choosing to use as your office whether it be a cubicle in the city, or a hammock on an exotic beach. Below is a list of five of our favorite tools for being able to work effectively from wherever we are.
No matter how many trips you take, actually planning it will often be a very long and frustrating experience. Add to that trying to plan a trip between multiple people and it just gets that much more complicated. Izabella and I always travel together so at minimum there are always at least two people involved in the trip planning process and even that can get difficult with regards to who is responsible for what and what progress has been made on different tasks such as booking hotel rooms or buying train tickets. One way that we have managed to improve our planning process, and keep most of our sanity, is by using an awesome (and free) project management tool called Trello.
I absolutely love the iDOO V4.1 Bluetooth Headset! When I travel I currently use a pair of Wireless Beats Solo 2, but those can be bulky and honestly there's always a fear that such an expensive set of headphones can be lost, damaged, or stolen. So for my everyday movement I always carry a pair of the iDOO headsets. During my search for an affordable pair of bluetooth headphones (especially after I got an iPhone 7, RIP headphone jack), I tried many many pairs of headphones under $30. There were a few options that were ok, but there were always too many trade-offs to really be able to ditch my Beats or wired headphones completely. Finally after weeks of searching I found these Powerbeats- imitating headphones on Amazon that seemed to really hit the sweet spot on price, performance, and look. Read on to see why I loved these headphones and ended up buying a pair for all my family members this past holiday season.
We are excited to share our thoughts and (hopefully) helpful tips on traveling, exploring, and dancing around the world!
